Avilo Aesthetics is run by Lauren Clark, a licensed esthetician who worked in the field for almost four years before opening the studio. She opened it to give clients a dedicated place for self-care and an hour to unwind. The private suite is on the second floor of The Dale Modern Day Spa, reached by the front staircase on the east side of the building, with easy parking.

Visits are not rushed and product pitches are avoided. Clients may be told that a facial series or their current product is enough, when that is the case. Intake forms ask about medications, allergies and recent treatments before each appointment, and the treatment room is disinfected to hospital standard between clients, according to the studio.

Facials include the Avilo Classic Facial, which is suggested for new clients, along with the Acne, Brightening and Lifting Facials chosen by skin concern, a 30-minute Mini Facial as a supplemental refresh, and a Back Facial that covers cleansing, exfoliation, extractions, a massage and a mask for the back and shoulders. Optional add-ons can be booked with facials, and 60- or 75-minute facials take more than one, while the Mini Facial takes one.

Lash and brow services include Korean lash lifts, which curl lashes without extensions or mascara and last six to eight weeks, plus lash tints, conditioning retints and brow lamination, a gentle perm that sets brow hairs upward for four to six weeks. The Full Brow and Lash Bundle combines brow lamination, tint and waxing with a Korean lash lift and tint, and the studio describes it as its most-booked service. Lash and brow services are not performed on clients under 16, and minors under 18 need parental consent.

Booking is by appointment only, online through Square at any hour, with a confirmation at booking and a reminder the day before. A card is held on file without being charged, except where a $50 deposit applies to some services booked online; services under $100 take no deposit. Cancellations with 24 hours' notice are not charged, while later cancellations, late arrivals and no-shows may be charged. Services are non-refundable, and problems should be reported within 48 hours. The studio is open Tuesday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, and children cannot be supervised during treatments, so guests should come alone unless arranged in advance.

Aims to enhance natural beauty rather than change it, tailoring each service to the individual client.
