The salon describes its success as coming from nurturing the talents of its team. It says its haircutting blends British and French techniques into one system that clients know as the Avant Look, and that its work centers on shape and texture to create modern, textured looks. Men's haircut consultations are complimentary, and women's haircut consultations are also free. First-time guests are asked to arrive 10 minutes early, and the booking includes an extra 15 minutes for the first appointment. Appointment reminders come by email, text or a confirmation call. Clients are asked to give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel. Hair extension styling needs a consultation first, and extension hair itself is not supplied. Wedding parties and special events can book hair and makeup through the front desk.

The salon is open Monday from 9am to 5pm and Saturday from 8am to 3pm, and it is closed on Sundays. Parking can be validated in the LaSalle Plaza ramp for appointments starting after 4pm on weekdays or all day Saturday, with at least $20 spent on product (services don't count). Nearby ramps include the Macy's ramp, the 811 LaSalle/LaSalle Court ramp, the Downtown ramp and the Hawthorne bus station ramp. Limited metered street parking is also available around LaSalle Plaza.
