Tom Schmiedlin is an owner and stylist at Avant. He started out as a barber in the early 1970s and co-founded the salon in 1976 with Mick Freund and Harvey Freund.
He trained at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in London and later studied in Paris to learn the French approach to hair design. He works with clients as a stylist while also running the salon.
