Haircuts are shaped to each client's curl pattern and are done wet or dry depending on that pattern. New clients book the Aura Curls Haircut, a 1 hour 30 minute visit that includes shampoo, conditioner and either a blowout or a wash-and-go finish. Current clients can book a shorter 30 minute Express Cut, which does not include a wash or style. Clients are asked to wash their hair within 48 hours of the appointment and to arrive with hair detangled, dry and lightly product-free. Braids, ponytails and buns cannot be cut because the natural curl pattern needs to be visible, and dreads, matted hair or large tangles are not cut.

Education is a large part of the offering. An in-person Wash + Go Lesson runs two hours and covers product selection, styling and drying, with online videos on washing, styling, hair typing, product selection, drying and maintenance included. A separate online Curly Styling Lesson is available with instant access. Color clients are asked to book a custom color consultation first, which runs 45 minutes and covers questions, a final quote and a test strand or patch test. Same-day color services are not offered.

Booking requires a card on file, and cancellation and no-show rules are posted on the booking site. Clients are encouraged to book their next visit before leaving the salon because the schedule fills quickly. Hot tools are only available as an add-on that must be requested before booking, and style services are for ages 13 and up. The business does not take responsibility for valuables such as jewelry, eyeglasses, bags or phones left during appointments.

Each cut is built around the client's own curl pattern, and the work aims to enhance the hair a client already has rather than change its texture.

Music plays in the chair, with the aim of a high-energy feel.
