Audacity Salon has served Kansas City clients for more than 20 years. Extensions and wigs are its best-known work, and the menu also covers a full range of everyday hair services.

Microlink extensions are offered in two ways. A braidless sew-in attaches weft hair to tiny microlinks, usually across five to seven strips for a full head. Individual links, also called strand by strand, attach pre-tipped extensions to small sections of natural hair in a custom pattern, with the number of strands depending on natural fullness, head size and the look wanted. Only human hair is used for microlinks, and the salon will not take responsibility for hair bought elsewhere and may turn away hair brought in by clients. Pricing depends on length, fullness, texture, color and style, so a consultation is needed to quote a price. Most first-time extension clients are asked to have a consultation, in person or virtually, which costs $45. With proper care microlinks can last up to 12 weeks, and tighten or move-up visits are recommended every three to five weeks.

The salon also makes custom lace wigs and units. Wigs are made with human hair in straight, wavy, curly and kinky textures, in lace closure, lace frontal, full lace and u-part constructions. Stock lengths run from 8 to 26 inches, and longer lengths, colors and textures are available as custom orders. A custom wig takes about three days to build after it is ordered. Wigs can be glued, gelled, taped or sewn down, and a consultation helps choose the method. A glue-less option lets clients remove and replace the wig each day. A lace wig can last one to two years with maintenance, and an installation typically lasts two to four weeks when glued or taped and two to six weeks when sewn.

Beyond extensions, the salon offers hair and scalp treatments, haircuts, straightening, coloring and styling. Straightening options include LaBrasiliana, keratin treatments in full or express form, and Design Essentials thermal and chemical relaxer services. Waxing covers eyebrows, lips and chin, and lash services include individual and cluster extensions and strip application. Semi-permanent eyebrow microblading is also available. One-on-one extension training is offered, and the salon takes bookings for wedding parties, girls' night pamper parties, photo shoots, fashion shows and travel.

Visits are scheduled by appointment only. Online bookings are held with a deposit paid through a secure payment portal and are confirmed once that deposit arrives. Changes to extension installations need 72 hours' notice. Deposits cannot be refunded, but within 30 days they can go toward another extension or weave service, less a $35 rescheduling fee. Cancelling or moving other services needs 24 hours' notice. Children are welcome only while receiving a service, and one parent may come along with a child. Other guests may not attend unless they are also having a service. A late arrival may be charged a fee, or the stylist may decide to cancel the appointment. Cash, credit cards, debit cards and Audacity Salon GlamCards are accepted; checks are not. Prices shown are starting amounts and can change.
