New clients, and anyone not seen in six months or more, book a consultation before any service. The $40 consultation is provided by a certified loctician, is not applied to the booked service, and needs clean hair with no product in it. Routine maintenance visits are scheduled every four to six weeks, and shampoo can be done with steam, hot oil or a deep conditioning treatment. A simple style can be added after a retwist on request.
Repairs are handled by trained specialists and range from quick fixes to full loc reconstruction. Loc reattachment reconnects existing locs to natural hair, and the salon celebrates members at the 3, 6, 9 and 12 month loc milestones. Starter options include traditional comb coils, two strand twists, instant locs, loc extensions, microloc twists and microlocs.
Appointments cancelled or moved with less than 24 hours notice are charged half the scheduled service, and no-shows are charged the full cost. Online bookings need confirmation from a loctician and a credit card on file. Arrivals have a 15 minute grace period, and clients running later should notify their loctician. Pay-over-time is available for orders of $75 or more, and gift cards are offered.
Mentoring and classes are for people who want to learn loc care themselves. A Mentor Call, which can be held virtually, is available, as are 1-on-1 sessions at beginner or advanced levels with a starter kit. The advanced session covers crochet, loc extensions and loc repair and includes a mannequin head, while the beginner session includes personalized consultations. Classes run as live stream and in-house sessions, and a waitlist is kept for mentoring when a preferred time is unavailable.
Maintenance runs on a regular four-to-six-week rhythm, with repairs handled by trained specialists.
