Every visit begins with a consultation about what the client wants from their hair and what their hair history is. The conversation also covers care before and after the appointment and tips for styling and upkeep at home. Product recommendations come from the challenges identified in that consultation rather than from a sales push.

Dark hair can reach bright vivid colors after lightening, or through tape-in extensions in fashion shades. Going from very dark hair to white blonde in a single hour is not realistic, so the stylist works out a plan and timeframe instead.

Clients can bring photos of what they like. The salon uses them as inspiration rather than as an exact copy. Color brought from home cannot be applied, because of quality control and the salon's Redken relationship. Take-home products can be returned within 30 days for a full refund to the original payment method. Slightly used products returned within 90 days can be exchanged for an item of equal or lower value. The salon does not provide a play area, so children should be arranged elsewhere during appointments. Hours are Wednesday through Friday from 10am to 8pm and Saturday from 9am to 2pm. Parking is free around the building and on nearby side streets, with a few designated spots in the garage entered just off NE 95th Street.

Each service starts with a consultation covering hair goals and hair history, followed by pre- and post-service care advice and styling tips. Product recommendations are based on what the consultation reveals rather than being pushed on clients.
