Ash + Opal is run by Ash + Opal, LLC from a Washington Street location in Quincy. Owner Daleen Jordan opened the salon in early 2021, and it now works with a small group of stylists. Color appointments, including custom color, sit alongside a focus on hair extensions, with the team certified in Hairdreams and Invisible Bead Extensions.

Visits are by appointment only, Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 8pm and Saturday from 9am to 4pm. New clients can send an online color consultation form, and the team aims to reply within 24 hours to schedule. Extension clients are quoted a first-time investment of $800 to $2,500, set by how many wefts they need, which covers hair, custom color, cut and styling. Prices shown are starting points and can rise with hair length and density. Every service includes a shampoo, blow-dry finish and style, and appointments end with product suggestions for home care.

Invisible Bead Extensions are hand-tied, and the salon describes the method as patented and the most requested of its kind. The initial installation costs $600 to $2,500 and takes two to five hours. Maintenance is priced by row at $150 for one row, $300 for two and $450 for three, usually needed every eight to ten weeks. The salon says this method is damage-free and lasts about twice as long between reinstalls as others. The color can be matched to the client and the extensions layered to suit natural hair density.

Hairdreams extensions use 100% real human hair attached with NANO bondings placed close to the roots. The initial installation costs $600 to $1,500 and takes about an hour and a half on average, and a tidy-up takes about 45 minutes for $150, typically every 12 weeks. As hair grows, the bondings move away from the scalp and become more visible after four to six months, which is when they should be removed. Extension hair is usually replaced about every 12 months, depending on home care.

Booking requires a credit card on file. Extension bookings need a non-refundable deposit equal to the cost of the wefts, with the remaining balance due on the day and the total set at consultation. Cancellations or reschedules need 48 hours notice; within 48 hours half the service is charged, and within 12 hours or for a no-show the full service is charged. Confirmations go out 72 hours ahead with a reminder 24 hours before, and clients with an unpaid cancellation charge cannot rebook until it is cleared. Clients running late should text the salon, as arriving more than 15 minutes late may mean the service cannot be guaranteed. Parking has two spots in front and street parking nearby, and the salon sits about a mile from Quincy Center T Station, so rideshare is the suggested option.
