Artora Beauty Bar was previously known as Ayfer Salon. Its founder ran that salon on Closter Dock Road in Closter for 19 years, then worked at another Tenafly salon before opening Artora as a private studio on South Summit Street in Tenafly.

Clients enter through the private side stairwell to the second-floor studio. Every visit begins with a personal consultation, and the complimentary consultation includes a custom product prescription for home care. The studio is small and bright, set up so that appointments are not rushed.

Services are planned around each client's bone structure, skin tone, facial features and personal vision. Cuts include a cleansing massage and a signature blowout. Color work ranges from hand-painted balayage and micro-fine babylights to single-process color, toning and gloss, and corrective color.

Hair extensions are Great Lengths, made from 100% natural human hair, custom-matched and bonded strand by strand. Keratin smoothing, humidity and frizz treatments, and scalp and spa rituals can be booked on their own or added to other services.

The salon says it has been featured in People, Harper's Bazaar and 201 Magazine, and describes its approach as a return to unhurried pampering. Hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The studio is closed Sunday, Monday and Friday.

Services are tailored to each client's bone structure, skin tone, facial features and personal vision, using curated European formulas.
