Architeqt Color Bar grew out of Architeqt Salon, a sister salon that has operated in Philadelphia since 2012. The color bar concept was inspired by the back color room at Architeqt Salon, and it was reimagined by co-owners Alba Karabina and Alexey Kats. The salon describes its stylists as award-winning and among the best in Philadelphia; that is the salon's own description.

A first visit starts with a consultation with a colorist, who builds a custom color formula for the client. A trained color technician then applies the color and handles shampooing, any added treatments and post-color styling. The formula is saved, so later visits such as root touch-ups or gloss refreshes can be booked directly with any color technician without a new consultation. A colorist is still present during color appointments to add face-framing balayage, change the gloss tone or choose a treatment.

The salon uses Goldwell as its color of choice and offers Antidotpro, an additive built into color, lighteners and other chemical services. The salon describes Antidotpro as helping protect the skin and scalp during color work. Refreshments are available for purchase during appointments, and health-forward beverages and snacks are also offered.

Architeqt Color Bar offers color-focused services, including root touch-ups, demi-permanent gloss, highlight blending for clients with gray, and a full grey transition for clients who are mostly gray and want a full color correction. The salon also has a range of treatments, smoothing services, bridal styling on location and color memberships billed on a recurring schedule. Virtual consultations and online scheduling are available, and walk-ins are accepted based on availability, though booking ahead is recommended.

Each color service begins with a consultation that produces a custom formula, which is saved and reused by any color technician for follow-up visits.
