Anthoprism Hair Design takes its name from two ideas: 'antho', the Greek word for flower, and 'prism', a shape that splits light into a range of colors. The salon is based in Sanford and is open Wednesday through Saturday, with Monday, Tuesday and Sunday closed.

About

Color is the core of the salon. Its primary color and product system is Kevin Murphy, and K18 is used in custom color, bleach and toner work, and some lightening services. Custom color and custom blonding are priced by consultation at $100 per hour with a three-hour minimum, and include K18 and a blow dry. Clients who want a specialized color plan can book a new-client consultation for $25, which lasts 30 minutes; the $15 day-of charge is credited toward the first full appointment. Tape-in extensions also begin with a consultation to match color, quote the price and talk through home care.

Other services include a formaldehyde-free natural keratin blowout that is said to be safe for same-day color, and two permanent straightening treatments, the Qiqi Smooth and Qiqi Ultra Straight. Waxing for brows and the upper lip or chin uses all-natural wax. Bridal and special event styling is available, including a bridal trial and travel wedding hair on request. Bookings are subject to deposits, which are non-refundable, and a 48-hour cancellation window: cancellations inside 48 hours carry a 50 percent fee, which may be waived for illness within reason. Cancellations and reschedules are made by calling 407-416-2502. Guests who arrive more than 15 minutes late may be asked to reschedule and pay for the reserved time, and late arrivals cannot be accommodated for express services, consultations or new-client appointments.
