Anita Patel MD is run by Dr. Anita Patel, a board-certified plastic surgeon who owns the practice and works in it alone. The office is in Beverly Hills, about ten minutes from the Beverly Hills Hotel and about 25 minutes from LAX. Out-of-town patients are welcome, and the practice schedules around travel for in-person visits.

The first step is a consultation with the surgeon personally, which covers goals, medical history, a physical exam and a customized plan. At consultation the surgeon examines anatomy, explains the recommended techniques and shows relevant before-and-after results. Video, phone and Zoom or FaceTime consultations are available, and most procedures need one in-person pre-op exam before surgery. Surgeries take place in accredited medical facilities. The same surgeon sees surgical patients at every postoperative visit: first one to two days after surgery, a drain removal visit the following week if needed, then visits at two weeks, six weeks, three months, six months and one year. Postoperative visits can be in person or virtual.

Signature offerings include The Body Rebalance, a customized body contouring approach that combines a tummy tuck, liposuction and breast refinement. Several procedures can sometimes be combined into one plan, and the surgeon reviews which combinations are safe at consultation. Insurance is handled with care. The practice accepts PPO plans as an out-of-network provider, but not HMO plans, Medicare or MediCal. Cosmetic procedures are usually not covered unless there is a functional or medically necessary reason, and the office can help request pre-authorization, which does not guarantee payment. Surgical payment plans are set up in advance and usually paid in installments, with full payment due three weeks before surgery. Non-surgical treatments are paid on or before the date of service. Major credit and debit cards, cash and cashier checks are accepted, and CareCredit, Alphaeon Credit and Cherry monthly plans are available for those who want to pay over time.
