Aloha Brow Bar

Aloha Brow Bar was founded by Layla, a licensed esthetician who became interested in eyebrow artistry in high school. She started out at a full-service salon, where she learned microblading and other services, and opened her first salon, The Brow Baebe Studios, at age 20. Aloha Brow Bar is the business she founded to focus on brows, lashes and esthetics.

A signature brow visit starts with an assessment of how the client's brows grow naturally and how their face is structured. From there the brows are mapped, precision waxed, tweezed, trimmed and styled, with each shape built around the individual rather than a standard template. Returning clients are seen for a shorter visit of about 15 minutes, while new clients, or clients coming back after five weeks away, book a longer visit of about 25 minutes.

For lashes, the Standard Fill replaces outgrown extensions with new ones and takes about an hour and ten minutes. It is recommended when at least 60% of the extensions remain, ideally within two weeks of the last appointment, and an additional $15 applies when less than half of the lashes remain. The Korean lash lift produces a smooth, customized lift that follows the client's natural lash pattern.

Customized facials begin with a skin assessment, and each treatment is planned for the individual. Services can include deeper cleansing, extractions, hydration and support for signs of aging.

The business also trains aspiring brow and lash artists through hands-on instruction and offers educational eBooks for self-paced learning. It rents rooms to other service workers and to part-time apprentices who want to learn brows and lashes.

Brows and lashes are shaped around each client's natural features rather than a standard template, and facials are planned after a skin assessment.
