Debbie Lobban launched Alexander Hairdressing in 2004 and has built a team of hairdressers around it. She moved to Orlando in 1997 with about 20 years of British hairdressing experience and says her aim is to bring British standards to the city and help raise the local hairdressing industry.
The salon says it aims to push the boundaries of hairdressing, offering creativity, quality and consistency to every client. Styles are meant to be effortless, easy to wear and flattering, and adaptable to each client's personal taste.
Booking requires a credit card to be secured at the time of the appointment. Changes and cancellations must be made by phone at 407 839 8488, as email cancellations are not accepted, and a full fee applies to cancellations or missed appointments without at least 48 hours notice. Clients are asked to arrive on time, to switch cell phone ringers off on entering, and to mention any allergies, sensitivities or special needs. Guests wait in the waiting area, and children must be attended at all times. Gratuity is customary and left to the client. Gift certificates exclude gratuities and must be used within one year of purchase.
Beyond hair, the salon offers European eyebrow and eyelash tinting, eyebrow shaping and lip grooming. Its chemical services cover single process color, foil highlights, color sealer, gloss and color correction, and its treatments include red light therapy, a customised Kerastase ritual, K-18 bonding and a Brazilian smoothing treatment. Stylists recommend a home regimen using professional products between visits.
Each style is built around the client's facial features, hair type and lifestyle, and the team pairs service with ongoing education.
