The building was constructed in 1934 by Henry Lundgren, and the business describes itself as a Bay Area favorite since that year. The business says its sauna ranks among the best outside Finland and among the oldest public saunas in North America. Guests use four private rooms in a savusauna style, with a rock furnace, a chimney, and full control over heat and steam. Sessions run 30, 45 or 60 minutes. A single person pays $30, $45 or $60, and two people pay $55, $70 or $85, with $25 added for each additional person. Sauna time includes up to 15 minutes afterward in the dressing room to cool down and change. Each session includes a bath towel, a bench towel and an aromatherapy wash cloth, plus Aveda hair products. Guests who bring their own towels, robe and slippers receive $2.50 per person off the sauna. Sauna reservations and a signed waiver are required. Oil-based products, strong scents, perfume and glass are not allowed in the sauna rooms. A sauna pass gives five visits for the price of four within one month.

Outdoor private hot tubs are open to the air and have a covered changing area. Off-peak rates (Monday to Thursday) start at $30 for 30 minutes for one person and reach $90 for 90 minutes. Peak rates (Friday to Sunday and holidays) have a two-person minimum and start at $60 for 30 minutes for two. Hot tub use is limited to adults 18 and older, and requires an annual liability waiver and photo ID. The water is kept at a maximum of 104F by law. Combination hot tub and sauna sessions for one to four people include a robe, slippers, a basket, towels, tea service and Aveda hair products.

Massage therapy includes classic work with medium to light pressure, from $115 for 60 minutes, and modality work with medium to firmer pressure, from $140 for 60 minutes. Modalities offered include deep tissue, sports massage, myofascial release, cranial sacral, migraine relief, the Hendrickson method, lymphatic drainage, Tui Na, reflexology, Thai stretching, pain relief, and pre- and post-natal massage. Specialist techniques such as cupping, hot stones, Chinese medical massage and reflexology are an extra $25. CBD pain relief starts at $30, and Celluma LED light therapy for pain relief or body contouring starts at $30 per session. Facials include Aveda Botanical Kinetics and Caudalie Vinotherapy signature facials from $125 for 60 minutes, and a microdermabrasion facial of 75 minutes from $175 with a professional peel or enzyme mask. Massage packages of four start at $460 and include complimentary off-peak sauna or hot tub time.

Massage starts at 10AM, facials at 11AM, and the sauna opens at noon. The business is open seven days a week and on holidays except Thanksgiving Day. Appointments are confirmed with payment and cannot be cancelled or rescheduled once paid. A therapist tip can be added when booking or paid on the day. Clients who book two or more massage or facial appointments with a hot tub or sauna receive $10 off per person. Tampering with equipment, leaving a space messy or damaged, or soiling a room incurs a $200 cleaning fee. Gift cards are sold online, by phone or in person, and physical cards can be mailed for $4. Private events for groups of four or more, with a 90-minute minimum and tea service, can host up to 20 people, from $60 per person including drinks, snacks and a gift. Four private sauna rooms, open-air hot tubs and an on-site gallery and bookshop give the place a distinctly cultural feel.
