Aesthetics by Aleah

Aesthetics by Aleah is a one-person studio in Raleigh, run by its owner and licensed esthetician, Aleah. The owner started working as an esthetician after graduating in 2014, became a solo practitioner in 2016 by renting a room in another person's suite, and now works from a suite of their own on Six Forks Road.

Corrective skincare is the core of the practice. Treatment plans are built around each client's skin type, concerns, lifestyle and goals, and may address acne, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, texture, congestion and dehydration. The studio also specializes in ingrown hairs.

Waxing covers brows, Brazilian waxing and body waxing, with the aim of reducing irritation, ingrown hairs and other post-wax concerns. Men's skin care is part of the menu too: the men's facial includes deep cleansing, exfoliation, hydration and a treatment tailored to men's skin, and can add targeted care for the beard and ingrown hairs.

The setting is private and relaxing, and visits are kept to the client and the service, since children who are not being treated and extra guests are not allowed at appointments. Minors aged 12 to 17 may book facials and waxing when a parent or guardian signs the forms and stays for the full service. New clients should arrive five minutes early, as there is no grace period for them; arriving five minutes late after that carries a $10 late fee.

Booking requires a 50% retainer. Reschedules must be made 24 to 48 hours before the appointment and within two weeks of the original date. No-call no-shows are charged the full service fee on the card on file, and clients with signs of contagious illness will be cancelled and charged in full. Intake and consent forms must be completed honestly and fully, including an accurate medical history, current medications, allergies and products used. Appointments outside business hours are treated as emergency appointments and carry an additional fee.

The studio asks that calls be avoided during sessions; texts or emails are preferred, and replies usually come within 24 hours on Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 6pm. Gift cards are available through the website.

Each service is customized to the client's skin needs and goals, and the studio explains what to expect rather than promising a specific result, since every face is different.
