AE Hair Color Studio is a small, appointment-only studio in Arnold, Maryland. Ann opened it in 2013 and works there as owner, colorist, and stylist. Each client is given a dedicated block of time, so no one is fit into a gap in the schedule. Booking is done by email, and the studio replies with open times within one to two days. A slot may be held until the client answers. The studio suggests booking four to five weeks ahead, or five to six weeks ahead for evening and Saturday visits. Clients arriving more than 15 minutes late may be asked to reschedule. Cancellations need 24 hours notice, and after two missed appointments without that notice, future bookings may not be allowed. Cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express are accepted, and payment is due when services are finished.

The menu covers hair color from all-over color and root touch-ups to partial and full highlights, face framing highlights, balayage, and glazes. Corrective color is priced after a consultation. Haircuts and styling include women's cuts, a cut for ages 11 to 15, blow-dry styling, formal styles, and protein or moisture conditioning treatments. An additional fee may apply for extra long or thick hair, or for previously colored hair that needs correction. The studio offers a satisfaction guarantee, and clients should report any dissatisfaction within 48 hours.

Each client gets a dedicated block of time, so appointments are never squeezed in.
