About

Advanced Electrolysis is a permanent hair removal practice in Lower Gwynedd, focused only on electrolysis. The office is set up for private, professional appointments and is wheelchair-accessible, located near the PA Turnpike and Routes 309, 202 and 63.

Electrolysis is applied to most facial and body areas, including eyebrows, chin, lips, jaw, underarms, abdomen, bikini line, legs and back. Sessions run from about 15 minutes to more than an hour, depending on the area. Because hair grows in cycles and not every hair is visible at once, most clients need several treatments, and the number is set during a personal consultation. Areas that have been waxed or tweezed usually need more frequent visits than areas that have been shaved.

Visitors should expect a brief sting during treatment, though tolerance varies from person to person, and slight redness can appear right afterward. Clients are asked not to pluck, wax, thread or tweeze before an appointment, and to remove makeup and avoid caffeine for a few hours beforehand. A complimentary consultation is available. Pricing depends on the type and length of treatment, so the office asks prospective clients to call for rates.

The practice uses a shortwave and blend electrolysis approach with the Apilus Platinum Pure device, along with design-for-vision loupes, LED lighting and sterile disposable probes. Infection prevention follows standards set by the American Electrology Association, which draw on CDC, OSHA and APIC recommendations. Electrolysis can be done during pregnancy, though clients are advised to check with their physician first, and moles can be treated where licensing rules allow, sometimes with written physician approval.

Uses shortwave (thermolysis) and blend electrolysis, with infection prevention based on American Electrology Association standards.

The office is described as professional and private.
