About

Acupunk NYC began in the West Village in New York City and later relocated to Metuchen, New Jersey. The studio blends Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern, evidence-based care and takes an intersectional approach that aims to be culturally sensitive. Treatment focus areas include fertility and IVF support, chronic stress and autoimmune disorders, and pain management and sports medicine.

A first visit is a 75-minute session that combines acupuncture with another modality. It includes a health history discussion, a physical exam with tongue and pulse diagnosis, and an acupuncture treatment. Follow-up visits are 45-minute treatments that again pair acupuncture with a modality. Acupuncture is often combined with electro-acupuncture or cupping, and the studio describes acupuncture as a preventive option for many non-emergency conditions, including digestive issues, sleep disorders, anxiety and depression, asthma, skin disorders, women's health and fertility, and orthopedic and sports rehabilitation.

Massage sessions run 60 to 90 minutes and cover therapeutic, sports, and pre-natal and post-natal massage, as well as craniosacral therapy and massage for inflammatory disorders. Massage is typically advised monthly as part of a treatment plan, with the duration depending on the main concern. Acupuncture and massage packages are available by email inquiry.

Nutrition TCM focuses on food choices, lifestyle changes and herbs to balance the body's energy, and it includes a review of lab work as a baseline for recommendations.

Scheduling is open Tuesday and Thursday from 2PM to 8PM, Wednesday and Friday from 8AM to 2PM, and Saturday from 9AM to 1PM. Cancellations must be made within 24 hours of the appointment, or the full fee is charged. Acupunk NYC accepts HSA and FSA payments. Insurance coverage can be checked through a benefit check form, with a team member contacting the client within 2 to 3 business days, and out-of-pocket payment is available for clients without health insurance.
