Dr. Alexandria Henriques

Dr. Alexandria Henriques founded Acupunk NYC and practices as an acupuncturist, a role she has held for more than five years. Her undergraduate degree from Kean University paired a psychology major with a minor in studio art, and she completed a pre-med and physical therapy course of study alongside it. She then trained at Pacific College of Health and Science, earning a master's in acupuncture and Chinese medicine in 2019 and a doctorate in acupuncture there in 2022.

Her clinical background includes more than 500 volunteer hours at Children's Specialized Hospital and JFK Hospital, where she worked in inpatient and outpatient clinics with the Brain Trauma team and rehabilitation therapists. She also served on the Research Team at Children's Specialized Hospital, collecting data for Adaptive Aquatic Therapy.

Her areas of focus are pain conditions, structural imbalances, skin conditions, digestive disorders and fertility. She studied advanced cosmetic facial acupuncture in dermatology with Shellie Goldstein and was mentored by leaders in the field, including Mary Elizabeth Wakefield. She holds a Reiki certification from Holy Fire Reiki and uses lab results as a baseline when making nutrition recommendations within traditional Chinese medicine.
