The salon was founded by Jessica Smith and Laura Young, who brought together a shared interest in wellness, grooming and beauty with their own individual skills. The business says its work rests on more than 21 years of experience between its founders. It expanded its team and service menu in May 2022.

The menu falls into four areas: men's grooming, women's cuts and color, hair extensions, and Hairskeen hair systems. Men's options run from a 30-minute clipper and scissor cut or beard trim up to a combined package that includes a haircut, beard trim, facial waxing and a 10-minute scalp massage. Women's services cover cuts, blowouts, Olaplex and deep conditioning treatments, full and partial color, highlights, facial waxing, event styling and makeup. Full color starts at $120 and full highlights at $145.

Some services need a consultation or are booked by request. Weft and K-Tip extensions require a consultation for new clients before the first appointment. Formal event styling, makeup and wedding hair and makeup trials are booked by request. Hairskeen New System is open only to established Hairskeen clients.
