Walaya Methodius-Rayford

Walaya Methodius-Rayford is the Medical Director at LUXE. Her education began with a bachelor's degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, followed by a Master of Science in Medical Science and an MD from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. Her surgical training, all at Atlanta Medical Center, covers a residency, a chief residency and a vascular surgery fellowship.

She joined Georgia Vascular Specialists, PC in 2011. Her later credentials include certification as a physician in vascular ultrasound, and in 2014 she was named a certified diplomate of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine. She is a certified wound specialist physician (CWSP), has hyperbaric medicine training, and uses the credentials MD and RPVI.

Beyond clinical work, she founded Women in Surgery, a society that supports peers in medicine. She holds memberships in the Society for Vascular Surgery, the Atlanta Medical Association, the Peripheral Vascular Society and the American Venous Forum, and she spent three years on the Society for Vascular Surgery's diversity committee. Her work has been featured in O Magazine, Good Housekeeping, Entrepreneur and Women's Health.
