Valerie Thorpe (Val)

Valerie Thorpe runs Brow Catching, where she works as the artist. Her permanent makeup practice started close to two decades ago, and she is trained in permanent makeup and paramedical tattooing. She first built brow work around a corporate project management job, doing brows in the evenings and at weekends. Her specialties are powder and ombré brows, combination brows, and nano or machine-applied hair strokes. Other services include lip neutralization, scar camouflage, and areola and nipple restoration for breast cancer survivors. Clients range in age and gender and include people whose brows are sparse, thinning, uneven or absent, as well as older clients who prefer less time spent drawing their brows. Her approach is to design a shape suited to the individual face rather than a single standard shape.
