Steve David

Steve David runs Comme des Salons, where he works as owner and hair stylist. He has spent 25 years cutting and styling hair, beginning in upscale salons before he was brought on to do hair for photo shoots. For roughly two decades he worked freelance as an editorial and celebrity hairstylist, represented by agencies in fashion and entertainment. His assignments have ranged across runway shows, editorials, advertising campaigns, commercials, music videos and celebrity styling, and his work has run in Harper's Bazaar, Nylon, British Glamour, Spanish Cosmopolitan, Financial Times, Angeleno, Riviera, Shape, Red Magazine, Teen Vogue, Ladies Home Journal and CBS Watch Magazine. Among the people he has styled are Janelle Monae, Bella Thorne, Paz De La Huerta, Chloe Moretz, Zoey Deutch, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Beth Behers, Evan Rachel Wood, Paris Hilton and Michelle Rodriguez. He served as personal hairstylist to actor Owain Yeoman, and he has worked on ad campaigns and commercials for AG Jeans, Fernet Branca and GNC. Separately, he has designed headpieces for about 15 years. Those pieces have appeared in editorials, runway shows and music videos and have been sold to private clients, and one was worn by Janelle Monae at the 2019 Grammy Awards. His headpiece work has also been shown in several art gallery exhibitions.
