About
Stephanie Johnson owns The Hair Care Company, where she works as a holistic scalp specialist, educator and product developer. She holds a licensed senior cosmetologist credential and teaches cosmetology. Her focus is restoring hair for women of African descent, and both her website and her treatments center on that work.
Until 1992 she worked in several Detroit salons. She later worked alongside stylists in San Diego and Los Angeles, and took on assignments on television sets, at magazine shoots and at hair shows.
She has studied trichology. She leads Black Girl Hair Health, a Facebook community for women of African descent, and promotes it. She is also a member of The National Association of Professional Women.
