Sonja Lauber
Owner stylist at goldpop salon
- Razor cutting as an option
- Planning hair care and upkeep with clients
About
Sonja Lauber owns and runs Goldpop Salon, where she is the sole stylist. She previously worked at a very large salon before opening her own studio. She graduated from Atarashi Beauty School in Seattle and completed a two-year apprenticeship at Coupe Rokei Salon, also in Seattle.
Her further training covers razor cutting, styling and color at Bumble and bumble University in New York, advanced training at Oribe in Las Vegas, and advanced color training at Wella in New York. She also has product knowledge training in Kevin Murphy products from Seattle.
She offers razor cutting as one option, and notes that some clients prefer it while others have had a poor experience with it. She takes on clients who want to work together on upkeep and a clearly defined plan for their look.
- Approach
- Consultation is at the core of her work: she asks about hair history, goals and how much maintenance a client is willing to do, starts from client photos, and evaluates hair type, density and growth patterns in person.
