She is licensed in Colorado and Pennsylvania and has been practicing medicine for more than 30 years.
She earned a bachelor's degree in biology cum laude from the University of Scranton in 1989, with a minor in history. In 1993 she graduated from Hahnemann University, now Drexel University, in Philadelphia, with honors in dermatology, dermatology basic science research, and psychiatry and psychopathology. Her internship in internal medicine was at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, and her dermatology residency was at the Medical College of Pennsylvania-Hahnemann University, where she served as chief resident in her final year.
From 1993 to 1997 she served on active duty with the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant commander, having received a Health Professional Scholarship. Her assignment included work as a flight surgeon based in Norfolk, Virginia. She left active duty with an honorable discharge in 1997 and remained in the inactive Reserves for several years afterward.
Her clinical areas are cosmetic dermatology, medical dermatology and medical weight management. She has administered Botox and Juvederm since their FDA approval, more than 20 years ago, and she treats melasma and diagnoses and plans treatment for perioral dermatitis. She keeps current through conferences and meetings. Patients see her for dermatology care, aesthetic procedures or medically supervised weight loss.
