About
Sheila Barbarino, MD, FAAO, FACS, founded Barbarino Surgical Arts, a cosmetic surgery and aesthetic practice in Austin, Texas. She is a double board-certified cosmetic surgeon, holds an American Board of Ophthalmology certification, and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She completed fellowship training in oculofacial plastics and cosmetic surgery. She has 19 years of experience in aesthetic treatments and has been in practice for more than 20 years.
Her surgical work covers blepharoplasty, facelift, rhinoplasty, brow lift and body contouring. She also offers injectables, threads, lasers and skin treatments, including Botox, dermal fillers, PDO thread lifts and PDGF therapy. Her design method, which she calls La Méthode de l'Éclat, assesses the whole face together rather than feature by feature, and she builds a personalized, long-term plan that may be surgical or non-surgical.
She has more than 15 peer-reviewed publications, on topics including eyelid surgery, fillers and rosacea treatment, and is principal investigator in ongoing research. She teaches anatomy to other surgeons, presents at international conferences, and lectures nationally and internationally on injectables, lasers and aesthetic devices. She is a Galderma GAIN trainer, sits on the scientific advisory board of The Aesthetic Show, and serves on Moxie's Aesthetic Business Advisory Board.
Her honors include a 2022 Aesthetic Award win, Super Doctors Southern California honors in 2020 and 2021, five-time Patients' Choice Award and Compassionate Doctor Award honoree status, and the Lupus LA Woman of Achievement Award in 2019. She treats patients from across the country as well as local patients.
