Sara Carden

Sara Carden is the founder and master stylist of Sara Carden Hair in Austin. She has more than twenty years of experience as a colorist and stylist. Her training began in Southern California and continued at Bumble and bumble in New York City, where she later worked as a network educator for several years, training stylists across the country in advanced color and cutting techniques. In total she has spent over a decade educating other stylists.

Her professional work has included commercial and editorial shoots, music videos, fashion weeks in New York and Los Angeles, and red carpet styling. She is currently an Evo Pro Ambassador, representing Evo Hair products, and regularly attends advanced education classes to keep up with new techniques and product developments. Clients from Austin, Bee Cave, Lakeway and the Hill Country come to her.

Sara works with fine, thick, curly, straight, color-treated and natural hair, and she is known for straight-razor cutting. She mixes every color formula by hand, building it around the natural tones a client already has and considering skin tone, undertones and maintenance. Each visit starts with a conversation about lifestyle, and cuts and styles are shaped to natural texture and to what the client can keep up at home. She explains what she is doing and why during the service, and she takes on color corrections for work that went wrong elsewhere. She will be honest when a service or trend is not suited to a client's hair or lifestyle.
