About
Sanam Zahedi, MD, is a plastic surgeon with double board certification and the owner of Zahedi Plastic Surgery. The practice is based in Aventura, Florida, and serves patients from Fort Lauderdale and Miami. Fewer than 10% of plastic surgeons hold this double certification, issued by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. She started the practice herself and is known for labiaplasty, breast reduction, breast lift, upper eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty and full-body cosmetic surgery.
Her surgical training began with a general surgery residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch, where she also trained alongside plastic and reconstructive surgeons. She then completed a plastic surgery fellowship at the University of California Davis, where during her chief year she organized and ran the Facial Injectables Clinic for Botox and filler. She has also worked at MD Anderson Cancer Center, St. Joseph's Cosmetic Center and Shriners Children's Hospital. Her medical degree is from the Florida State College of Medicine, and the college's Alumni Hall of Fame added her in November 2025.
Professionally, she belongs to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Aesthetic Society and has served on several ASPS committees, including the Women Plastic Surgeons Steering Committee. She is affiliated clinical faculty at the University of Miami. She hosts the LoupePodcast, a plastic surgery education show, and during her time at the University of Florida she had served as the American Pre-Medical Women's Association's president before. She is one of a small number of female plastic surgeons in South Florida, which suits intimate and gender-specific procedures.
