Rob Schutzbach

Rob Schutzbach is the owner of Artisan Hair Cary, where he works as a master hairdresser and educator. With more than 25 years in hair, he is known for precise, architectural shapes: bobs, layered cuts, textured pixies and men's cuts with clean edges. He cuts every hair type and texture, from straight to coily. His training includes Sassoon, where he developed precision cutting, and advanced courses with Toni & Guy. He was on the Arrojo Art Team with Nick Arrojo, working on cutting and styling. He has further education from L'Oréal, Wella, Redken, Bumble and Bumble and Davines, and has taught classes and workshops, mentored stylists and presented at events. His color services include balayage, all-over color, corrective color and fashion shades. He welcomes clients coming from disappointing salon visits, including those who need corrective work. Each shape is built around the client's features, lifestyle and personal style rather than trends. He recommends a shape refresh every six to eight weeks, though many shapes hold longer. When a color goal can't be met in one session, he tells clients at the start and lays out a plan.
