About

Richard Daly is the founder, master stylist and creative director of RICHARD salon. He began his career in hair after graduating at the top of his class from Wilfred Academy of Beauty in Hauppauge, New York, and trained at Jingles Academy in New York City under Don Francis. He then spent eight years at major salons in Woodbury and Huntington, Long Island, and twelve years as head colorist and stylist at a salon in Northport, New York. He has more than 25 years of experience on the salon floor. His work is known for color transitions, including moving clients between cool blonde and brunette, a skill InStyle Beauty Blackbook editors singled out. He sits on the Advisory Board of the ARROJO Cosmetology school in Manhattan and has performed onstage with Nick Arrojo, Patrick McIvor and Paul Merritt at ARROJO Expose 2016 in Port Washington, New York. He was named 2024 Best Boss on Long Island and was featured on the cover of the 2013 Salon Today 200 issue. He considers a committed structure for training young stylists central to growth, and a 2016 Newsday article noted more client interest in wavy and textured hair.
