Ricardo Mejia

Ricardo Mejia, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist, Mohs skin cancer surgeon and hair transplant surgeon in Jupiter. He holds a degree in biomedical engineering and graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He completed a dermatology residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in hair transplantation surgery. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery and belongs to several dermatology, Mohs, laser and hair restoration societies, including the AAD and the ISHRS. He has performed thousands of Mohs and plastic surgery reconstructions. He is the current president of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery for 2024 to 2025 and teaches as a faculty instructor for physicians at dermatology and hair transplant conventions. In hair restoration he uses follicular unit strip and follicular unit extraction methods, along with platelet-rich plasma and ACell extracellular matrix. His other treatments include fractional CO2 laser resurfacing, LightSheer diode hair removal, IPL for pigment and vascular changes, and specialized training in varicose vein and sclerotherapy treatment. He is one of the only MDs in the nation board certified in dermatology and dermatologic surgery, was awarded Most Compassionate Doctor during his residency, and was among a few hair restoration surgeons featured in a live CNN interview about hair loss. Patients travel to see him from around the world.
