Luciana Takata

Luciana Takata, MD, PhD, FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist, Mohs skin cancer surgeon and hair transplant surgeon at the practice. She graduated from the University of Sao Paolo Campinas in Brazil and completed a Mohs fellowship in Houston, where she performed more than 700 Mohs cases, including complex reconstructions using flaps and grafts. She is a diplomate of the American and International Board of Hair Restoration Surgery and a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery. She is one of the only dermatologists from Brazil to complete a Mohs fellowship in Houston. She has practiced for over 15 years. Earlier, she founded the first Mohs micrographic surgery service and fellowship program in Campinas, Brazil, and worked at the Ruston Clinic in Sao Paolo performing hair transplants. Her focus includes complex hair and scalp disorders, and she performs follicular unit excision hair transplants for men and women. She serves as an oral examiner for the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery and sits on the ISHRS pro bono committee, which assists patients who have lost hair due to trauma, accidents or cancer. She has published in medical journals on FUE technique, eyebrow reconstruction and hair loss in young patients.
