Pistol Pete owns Pistol Pete's Tattoo Saloon and works as its tattoo artist, with more than 25 years of professional tattoo experience and a focus on cover-ups for over 25 years. He is known as The Emperor of Tattoo Cover-Ups. He is a world-renowned cover-up specialist and an award-winning artist.

He works in custom tattoos, cover-ups including name, blackout, scar, sleeve and portrait work, color correction and reworks as an option to full cover-ups, realism, black and grey, fine line and large-scale custom projects. His portfolio includes memorial pieces and sleeves. Every consultation is conducted personally by him. For a cover-up, he analyzes the existing tattoo and the skin before drawing. Where a cover-up can work well, he chooses it over laser removal.

Clients travel to him from Arlington, across the DFW area, across Texas, from other parts of the United States and from abroad. He goes to tattoo conventions, does guest artist appearances, works alongside other artists and mentors newer tattoo artists. He keeps up his training in color theory, anatomy, healing science and cover-up strategy.
