Nekeia Colcloughly

Nekeia Colcloughly is the founder and a stylist at Shear Essence. She has been in hairstyling since 1993 and worked as an assistant at a New Jersey salon before opening her own.

Her training began in an exploratory shop class as a freshman at Passaic County Technical and Vocational High School, and she went on to attend cosmetology school after high school.

Short cuts are a favorite area of styling for her, and she finds color one of the more complicated parts of the job. She enjoys the conversations with clients and the way a visit can change someone's day. She plans to branch into salon education.
