Ms Manae

Ms Manae is a hair extension technician based at Love Your Loxx in Scottsdale. She has specialized only in hair extensions for more than 28 years and is a four-time Best of Scottsdale winner in the hair extension technician category. She trained at Earl's Academy, now known as Avalon, and is certified in hair extensions by The Hair Shop and by Hot Heads. Her work includes layering and blending extensions. She takes clients seeking length for events or dramatic length for prom or a wedding, as well as those wanting everyday added volume or fuller hair for fine or thin hair. She works with women of all ages and professions. Before booking, she talks with each new client to suggest a method and give a price. Her choice of method considers natural hair type and density, lifestyle and styling habits. She recommends six to eight inches of natural hair for best results, though she has placed sets on hair as short as three inches. If a method is not right for a client's hair or lifestyle, she will say so and explain why. She applies extensions to stay in for about three months and uses particular tricks to make her applications more secure than others, combined with placement knowledge. She advises washing every two to three days and avoiding direct heat on beads, bonds or tape. Coloring natural hair does not affect beads or keratin bonds, but oils and some products can loosen tape-ins. She sets a maintenance or reapplication timeline for each method.
