Mio Lopez

Miosotis Lopez, who goes by Mio, is the hairstylist, makeup artist and owner of Miolooks Salon Studio. She has more than 20 years of experience as a hairstylist and makeup artist and has worked across the United States and Puerto Rico. Her focus is dimensional color and highly customized haircuts, and she creates complex, bold and colorful editorial and creative makeup looks. Her training includes an advanced precision haircutting class in Rome, Italy, taught by educators from Vidal Sassoon, Gianni Scumaci, DJ Muldoon, Bons Hair and Tony & Guy, and an editorial makeup masterclass in Berlin, Germany, with Einat Dan. She trained in the iArtist program in New York City, a small group program for makeup artists from around the world. She has also trained with Ashlee Norman, Larisa Love and Danessa Myricks, among others. Her courses with Ashlee Norman include the Airtouch Original Masterclass in California, a Reverse Balayage Masterclass in Dallas, Texas and a Balayage Masterclass in Puerto Rico covering Geodesic and Hexagon Foilayage. Other classes include a Rounded Out Master Class with Larisa Love at the IBS Show in Las Vegas, focused on seamless results with minimal foils, and a Dallas class with Tonya Pushkareva on updos. She has also attended the BTC Show, a hair show with more than 20 classes over three days. She travels as part of the Ashlee Norman Hair Team, working as a hair and makeup artist and co-facilitator educator. She is an award-winning makeup artist and was named ONE SHOT Editorial Makeup 2023 winner at the OneShot hair awards in August 2023. In her makeup work she favors enhancement over alteration, aiming for polished, refined looks that keep structure and balance. For editorial work she conceives and designs the final image and often photographs it herself. Clients describe her as honest, attentive, disciplined and creative.
