Miechelle

Miechelle is the owner of Nordic House Spa and sees clients at the studio in Carmichael. She holds a massage therapy license, is certified by the California Massage Therapy Council, and is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist. Her practice is built around oncology and lymphatic care. Among her credentials is the Oncology Massage Specialty Certificate, issued by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. She is a preferred practitioner with the Society for Oncology Massage, which also approves her to teach classes. Her lymphatic training covers Complete Decongestive Therapy, more than 150 hours of Vodder manual lymphatic drainage, compression work and patient education, and advanced MLD for care after plastic surgery. She has also studied head and neck lymphedema evaluation and management, recovery and fibrosis massage after plastic surgery, and an oncology massage educator program. She completed a hospital-based massage internship and an infusion center intensive at the Institute of Integrative Oncology, and she completes continuing education every year. Her main areas are oncology massage, manual lymphatic drainage, and recovery from plastic and reconstructive surgery. Separately, she gives massage to patients receiving chemotherapy and other infusions at Dignity Health in Sacramento. She has been a guest speaker on oncology massage and lymphedema, including for the Greater Sacramento Oncology Nurses Society and the AMTA California chapter. She belongs to the Society for Oncology Massage and the American Massage Therapy Association.
