Michelle Surgent

Michelle Surgent owns Pink Comb Studio. She started the business as a side job while still a college student, has worked in the field for about two decades, and spent eight years as a copywriter before opening her own salon. She opened Pink Comb Salon in Nutley, New Jersey, and ran it for six years.

She holds a New Jersey cosmetology license and trained at Christine Valmy beauty school in Montville, New Jersey. Her training also includes study in New York City and San Francisco, hair shows, online and in-person courses, and bridal makeup workshops with Temptu, MAC Cosmetics and Kett Cosmetics. She graduated from St. John's University with minors in theater and advertising. In 2014 she taught eight-hour bridal hair workshops at a training facility in Linden, New Jersey.

She lets the client guide the look, with the focus on listening and building a customized experience. She describes her clients as family.
