Melody Shen

Melody Shen is an acupuncturist at Six Fishes in Philadelphia and holds the L.OM credential. Her career before acupuncture included work as an exhibition curator, event planner, marketing and brand manager, graphic designer, and writer. She is a native speaker of Chinese and draws on Chinese-language medical literature that has not been translated into English. She trained for a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at MCPHS/New England School of Acupuncture, and earned a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine from Virginia University of Integrative Medicine. Her education focused on Chinese and Japanese acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. She holds a massage therapy license from China and a certificate in Chinese herbal diet therapy. Her work centers on musculoskeletal pain, and she treats many forms of pain. She has expertise in internal medicine, including headaches. She supports patients with mental health concerns, menstrual issues, and infertility, and treats older adults with spinal problems. Her scalp acupuncture practice includes approaches used in stroke recovery and for neurological conditions. She also provides facial and scalp acupuncture aimed at anti-aging. At the practice she offers private and semi-private acupuncture, herbal consultations, phone check-ins, and facial rejuvenation acupuncture.
