Melinda Brandt

Melinda Brandt is the owner of Bellwether Salon and also cuts and styles clients there. She started working in hairdressing in 2005, following undergraduate studies in visual design at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. She spent close to twelve years at her first salon, where she built a devoted client base. She then spent five years at Love and Mercy, which gave her steady access to advanced training. There she created a foundational haircutting course for the apprentice team and guided newer stylists. She has worked backstage for Kerastase at New York Fashion Week too. She has superior knowledge of her craft. Her portfolio leans toward bridal and editorial work, contemporary cutting and color, and precise bangs and fringes. She takes inspiration from fashion, the natural world and art to give current trends her own spin. Publications including Martha Stewart Weddings, The Knot, Style Me Pretty, Bangstyle and Imagine Magazine have featured her work.
