Masumi

Masumi owns Nails By Masumi and has specialized in natural nail care for over 28 years. The nail career started in Okinawa, Japan, and after a move to the Washington, DC area more than 23 years ago, the work became focused on natural nail care alone. The salon opened in 2021.

Training includes specialized classes in Japan on the toenail correction technique. The salon's gel system for non-invasive correction flattens and reshapes curved nails, and this treatment is not yet widely available in United States salons. Ongoing education in new nail care techniques, products and innovations continues, and the Healing Manicure, a strengthening treatment for weak or damaged natural nails, is also part of the work.

Attention is one-on-one in a calm, welcoming space. Building long-term client relationships is a priority, and many clients who move away return for services.
