Mary Katz works in permanent makeup under the name Mary Katz PMU, offering permanent brows, lips and eyeliner. She has 15 years of experience in the field, has traveled to train with permanent makeup artists in the country and abroad, and has trained hundreds of students and performed thousands of procedures.

Her brow services include powder brows, microblading and a combination brow that blends powder with hairline strokes. Lip work covers lip blushing, lip liner and pigment correction for lips. Eyeliner ranges from standard liner to designer liner, which can include a small wing or a stardust effect.

Consultations are free and confidential. Appointments run about 1.5 to 2.5 hours, including consultation, shape drawing, color choice and application. She draws the shape first, and the client chooses the color; work does not begin until the client approves both. She uses a new sterile needle for each treatment, discarded immediately after, applies topical numbing agents, and provides aftercare products at no additional cost while reviewing the aftercare steps.

The final pigment becomes visible after about three to five weeks as the color softens during healing. For a first application she recommends a touch-up after about six weeks, then every two to four years. Cancellations need 24 hours notice, or the full payment is charged to rebook. She sees clients in Room 1 of the Power Spa studio in the Key West shopping center.
