Martha Howard

Martha Howard is the owner and lead stylist at Marvelous U Styles Salon in Chandler. She has been in the industry for more than 30 years. She trained at LaVonne's Cosmetology School, which later became Classic Beauty College in Tempe, Arizona, and passed the state board exam after beauty school.

Her training as a tight curl specialist began in 2019 through Cut It Kinky. She also earned a Cut It Kinky certificate from the I Am Black Girl Curls Academy. Her awards and certifications include work from Vidal Sassoon, Dudley Cosmetology University, Toni & Guy, Carla Ross Seminars, Goldwell and DevaCurl.

Her specialties are tight curly hair, creative curly cuts and custom color. Her approach centers on fine detail, tailoring each look from understated natural styles to high-fashion hair. She offers color, cuts, natural and curly hair care, relaxers, Brazilian blowouts, and custom-blended makeup foundations and face powders. Her work has been published in VoyagePhoenix, Essence Magazine, Sophisticate's Black Hair magazine, the Project Glossy Vol. 1 Goldwell color book and Vedere magazine. She co-created The Natural and The Professional, a bi-monthly meet-up for women on their natural hair journey, and co-authored The NAP Ebook on caring for natural hair at home.
