About
Mark Karolak is a board-certified facial plastic surgeon with DO credentials. His board certification covers facial plastic surgery and otolaryngology through the American Osteopathic Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and of the American Osteopathic College of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and he is a RealSelf Top Doctor. From 2007 to 2018, he averaged more than 290 facelifts a year during the first decade of his career, and he has treated thousands of patients.
He earned a biology degree with honors from Rutgers College, where he took part in the Henry Rutgers Scholar Program and concentrated on neuroscience research. He trained at what is now Rowan University Osteopathic Medical School, completed a residency in otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery at Saint Barnabas Healthcare System, and finished his head and neck surgery training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan. While training, he was named Resident of the Year and served as Chief Resident in facial plastic surgery and otolaryngology.
His work includes deep plane facelifts, facelifts, neck lifts, eyelid lifts, fat transfer and facial sculpting. He aims for rested, refreshed and natural-looking results by addressing the main components of aging.
