Maria Tempera

Dr. Maria Tempera owns and runs Chiara Skin Clinic, where she also works as a physician. She earned her undergraduate degree with honors from Villanova University and her medical degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine. Her internship and residency in Family Medicine were at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ, where she was chosen as Chief Resident in her final year. She is board certified in Family Medicine.

Her dermatology fellowship was at the Skin Care and Surgery Center in Summit, NJ. She also trained extensively in aesthetic procedures, including injecting neuromodulators and dermal fillers, through the American Board of Aesthetic Medicine. Her aesthetic work includes neuromodulators, fillers, Morpheus8, microneedling, PRP and chemical peels. Her medical dermatology practice spans skin cancer screening, removing noncancerous growths, and treating acne, rosacea, psoriasis and eczema.

Alongside her own practice, she works in dermatology for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where she serves as lead for dermatology care in VISN IV, covering PA and parts of NJ and DE. She is a member of the Specialty Care Integrated Clinical Community. She received the Alfred Tersh Murdock D.O. Resident Teaching Award in 2017 and has been featured in Women's Health Magazine and People Magazine. She has also authored several publications.
