Marcelo Ghersi, MD

Marcelo Ghersi, MD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon who owns and leads Aeris. He co-founded the Plastic Surgery Institute of Miami, a group practice in Coral Gables. He speaks English, Spanish, Italian and French.

He earned a Bachelor of Science from Florida Atlantic University, graduating magna cum laude, and then a medical doctorate from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Returning to South Florida, he trained as a general surgery resident at Mount Sinai Medical Center and completed a plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Weston. An advanced aesthetic plastic surgery fellowship at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City followed. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member in the Cleveland Clinic plastic surgery department, teaching residents.

His aesthetic practice centers on nose and aging face surgery. Earlier he entered group private practice in Fort Lauderdale and worked at Memorial Regional Hospital and Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, treating adults and children with reconstructive needs. He has joined cleft and craniofacial teams and takes part in medical missions to Central America each year, performing cleft and pediatric plastic surgery. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and presented work at major national plastic surgery meetings. He has more than 20 years of experience and has performed more than 30,000 procedures.
