Maja Mylander

Maja Mylander is the owner of Simply Styled Hair and a licensed cosmetologist. She founded the salon and opened it as a private suite in 2025. She started working as a salon assistant at sixteen, during her junior year of high school, and went on to work as a licensed stylist before finishing school. She built a fully booked clientele within about a year.

She trained at a cosmetology school and completed a four-year dual enrollment program that combined high school and college-level cosmetology education. Color is her main focus, especially vivid colors, and she also works on precision highlights, seamless blending, clean haircuts and braiding. Bridal hair, special occasion styling and updos are a specialty. Her primary expertise is straight through mildly curly hair, and she has experience with coily hair. Very tight coils that need advanced curl-specific technique may be referred to a curly hair specialist.

She offers men's haircuts, clipper cuts, long-hair trims and men's color, with fades and barber-style cuts within the limits of a cosmetology license. She also welcomes clients of all genders and offers kids' cuts and color. Perms have been part of her long career but are not on the current menu. Reviews on the site describe her as someone who listens closely, and mention a gray-to-white color transition plan, bright pink color and custom updos and braided styles for events.
