Loren Rude

Loren Rude is the optometrist and owner of Sea View Optometry. He bought the practice in 2022 with plans to introduce new technology and broaden the services offered. He brings more than 25 years of experience in optometry and ophthalmology, including private practice and work at cataract and refractive surgery centers. Earlier, he worked as a clinical director, educator, researcher and consultant for optometrists and ophthalmologists, and he served as an adjunct clinical professor. He served as a Surgical Medical Science Liaison for Alcon across the Western United States and has lectured eye care professionals on dry eye, corneal disease, cataract surgery and refractive surgery. Years of collaboration with eye surgeons shape how he counsels patients weighing cataract or refractive surgery. He earned a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry and holds a bachelor's degree in biological sciences from UC Irvine.
